Working with a team of associates that she assembles for projects as needed, Laura provides her clients with expertise from the fields of construction, design and environmental health. She works with architects, builders, landscape architects, LEED accredited professionals, home and building inspectors, energy consultants, environmental engineers, toxologists, bau-biologists, mold and EMF specialists and other qualified specialists. Laura's training in architecture is from the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has worked as an urban planner with the City of Boston's Department of Neighborhood Development (DND), providing urban design, historic preservation guidance and technical assistance to Boston's neighborhood business districts. She oversaw a number of architectural and construction management services provided by the Office of Business Development at DND, supervised and trained design staff, reviewed designs of development projects for quality and cost efficiency, managed contracted architectural services and approved plans and specifications for the "Boston Main Streets" and "ReStore Boston" programs. Through these experiences and her background in building, she has come to believe in the power of a "grassroots" sustainability that begins in the home and workplace and connects to the health of the planet--integrating home, business and community in a cycle of environmental viability.
